The first year of 5G for the iPhone will be a disappointment for investors

iPhone 12 will support 5G connectivity and a new design. However, it could be a disappointment for Apple and its investors.

“The first year of 5G for the iPhone will be a disappointment for investors,” estimates Gene Munster, an industry analyst at Loup Ventures.

The reason is that the possibility of 5G networks including in the United States is not yet widely available.

According to CNBC, 5G is now commercialized in the US, but its coverage is not comprehensive. Next year it is estimated that more and more areas will be exposed to 5G.

Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg dares to predict that half the US area will be covered in 5G by 2020. Besides Apple, other smartphone vendors are also preparing to launch a 5G smartphone.

The problem is, not necessarily that the 5G network will be very wide next year as promised by the operator. If so, Apple’s hopes of improving iPhone sales could be somewhat hampered.

Munster is pessimistic about the operator’s promise about 5G network coverage. But although it may initially be hampered, over time iPhone 5G sales will improve.
